Enstone Business Park - Update

The outline application (25/02141/OUT) to upgrade Enstone Business Park is also awaiting a decision. If you are new to the area, the Business Park is just off to the left of the B4030 heading towards Gagingwell. What has been submitted by the owners is:

Outline planning application (with all matters reserved except access) for the demolition of existing buildings and the redevelopment and expansion of Enstone Business Park to provide up to 64,305sqm (GIA) of flexible employment floorspace within use classes B2 (general industry), B8 (storage and distribution) and/or E g ii and iii (R&D and Light industrial) with associated landscaping, drainage and external works.

Enstone Parish Council has supported the application with a request to prioritise access; landscaping; drainage works and light pollution during the first phase. A significant upgrade to a messy site is not unwelcome. However, major concerns remain around the amount of extra traffic generated. AB Agri – owners of the giant ABN mill that abuts the Business Park – has questioned the traffic data used in the application. It queries the application’s proposition that 40% of (employee) trips will be made by foot, bike, or public transport given the site’s rural location. It has further concerns, that echo those of the Parish Council, that access from the Park on to the B4030 could be hazardous.  ENCON has not commented on the application
