Croudace proposal - ENCON statement

The Enstone Conservation Trust has reviewed the pre-consultation materials prepared by Croudace Homes to build approximately 100 homes on the land south of Lidstone Road in Enstone.  We would like to place on record our objection to the current proposals on two grounds.

Firstly, the proposed development would represent a very large expansion of the village. There are approximately 470 dwellings in the Enstone, Neat Enstone and Church Enstone. A development of 100 houses is an expansion of over 20% of the number of dwellings and therefore too large. It is neither respectful of the village’s existing pattern of development or the community character.

Secondly, the community consultation has been just 21 days and virtual, with no in-person meeting.  For such a major proposal, neither the duration or nature of the consultation is satisfactory. We request that the developer extends the consultation period and conducts an in-person meeting at Enstone Village Hall.
